Meet our Pastor

Pastor Wesley E. Hendrix is a native of Morganton, NC, and the son of the late Susan Ervin Hendrix and the late Eddie Joe Hendrix. Pastor Hendrix is a graduate of Freedom High School in Morganton, NC, and Fayetteville Technical School of mortuary science. He also holds an AA degree in Human Services from Davidson Davie Community College. Currently, he attends Elizabeth City State University pursuing a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Pastor Hendrix is an active member of his community. He is the former 1st Vice Chair of the Burke County Democratic Party, a member of the Burke County NAACP, a volunteer chaplain for the Valdese Police Department and is a member of the Burke County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council.Pastor Hendrix answered the call to preach under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Ronald J Knight at Gaston Chapel AME Church in Morganton in 2001 where he received his license to preach the Gospel.Upon moving to Greensboro, NC, he joined the St. Paul Apostolic Church of Christ and was ordained an Elder in the Lord’s Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Shirley M. Womack.

Most recently, he served under the leadership of Pastor Deon Clark at Equation Full Gospel Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC and now serves as the proud pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Valdese, NC.

Above all things, he believes in serving God with his whole heart. He bases his ministry on the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:5-6: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. Pastor Hendrix is married to Lady Nedra D. White Hendrix.

Together, they have one daughter, Christian Madison Hendrix, and one son, MaKario White.
